Clinical Medics make Datchworth pay

It was the penultimate game in a campaign where Datchworth have had to cope with a lot of change. Another good result here following the triumph against London New Zealand was what the villagers were looking for. This however was not to be.

Despite Datchworth starting the more dominant, Imperial Medics soaked up the initial assault and went on the offensive themselves. From here they didn't look back.

The villagers kept within touching distance of the opposition at half time having scored a couple of tries in the first half through Mark Holgate and Alan Cartmell.

After the break the London side's fitness and execution was making a massive difference. Bit by bit the Medics lead was growing and there was no way back for the villagers.

Datchworth are wanting to concentrate on next season and rebuilding in the summer, but they have to remember that one more game still remains - a home game against bottom of the league Vauxhall Motors.

Datchworth need to regroup this week and replicate the form and application witnessed at their last home game. With a large crowd hopeful for this final game of the season, Datchworth need to play their own rugby, at their own speed, and prove something to themselves on Saturday.
